A bird with Galway in it’s beak!

These whimsical RAKU-fired ceramic shorebirds are mounted on either a ceramic ‘stone’ or a hazel wood mount. These sculptures are handmade and have beaks made from nails that used to be part of a traditional Galway Hooker boat. As the old nails were removed and replaced with new nails as the boats were refurbished, I was given them and am reusing them as part of my sculptures. So when you purchase one of these unique birds you really bring a genuine bit of Galway home with you! Birds are handmade and will vary slightly from the picture.
