This Raku fired grey seal has an amazing crackle pattern. Raku fired ceramics is taken from the kiln at 1000 degrees C and the glaze crackles as is cools. Each piece has a unique pattern of smoked crackle lines. Grey seals are a protected species in Ireland and are a wonderful sight in Irish coast, where they bask on rocks near the shore.
